Choosing the Perfect Wedding Date

One of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding has to be choosing the date. It gives you and your fiance a goal, and allows you to begin booking vendors. If you’re at a loss for how to narrow it down, here are a few tips.

  • Select a season: A winter wedding is very different to a summer wedding, and both vary from autumn and spring weddings. Decide on the season that has the weather you want for your celebration.
  • Significant dates: Some couples choose a significant date for their wedding. This can be anything from the anniversary of your first date to a commemorative holiday like National Ice Cream Sandwich Day (August 2, in case you were wondering).
  • Saturday or not: Saturday is the most popular day for weddings, but other days can offer their own advantages, including discounted rates with some vendors. Think about whether guests will need to take time off work and if this will make a difference to your celebration.
  • Saved dates: Pay attention to holidays, as guests might have other plans, even a year in advance. The same goes for weekends of major sporting events, like the Super Bowl and the Final Four.

There’s no right or wrong date for your wedding, and it really is a personal choice. Planning in advance can help you book the best Connecticut wedding vendors. If you want to meet and book wedding vendors for your Connecticut wedding, come to our next show!
